Mind Rape
I think that amount of TV commercial we have in the US is an outrage. I did not realize it until I got a forward email from Dave Song. It was called superbowl commercial. That is when the reality hit me. It took me back to Super bowl Sunday and some one said "Whatever happened to Bud Bowl?" Bud Bowl was this series of bad CGI commercials where beer bottles would battle each other to see which Budweiser beer would win. Bud lite or regular Bud. (they both suck) It ran during the Super Bowls in the 80's. When I was thinking about Bud Bowl commercials, I came to a realization. I realized that we Ameicans were getting suckered by the advertisement companies. Everyone was so into TV commercials. The one with Yao Ming and the movie trailers (Matrix, Hulk). I too was victom of being "mind raped" and did not even know it. This is why soccer is not a popular sport with American TV stations. TV ads are a subject of way too many coversitions through out the day. Enough Commercials! The Irony is the I was a Advertising major.
State of the Union Address
Tax cut.... Not interested. Health care..... Even more unintersting. War.... Now that is a intersting subject. What justfies war? is it our own safety and preserving our way of life? I watched the state of the union address by GW. It made me sorta sad to think about this whole war subject. How many poor Iraqis have to die because of lunatics such as Saddam Husein? How many people in North Korea have to die of mal-nutrition because of clowns like Kim Jung-Il?
One of the funny things about the state of the union address id the people constantly standing up and down. Everytime Bush said something there go the Senators standing up and down clapping. Some look so unenthused..... It's kinda funny. I hope best results come out for people all over the world.
This is truly a Catch-22. I hate those weird situations where you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. That really sucks. War is one of those issues. Why is it that everytime we have a Repulican in the office we have a war? The American people put GW Bush as our president and I have confidence that his adminstration will do what is necessary to ensure our way of life. Knowing that Saddam Husein is a power mongral dictator, I feel that we need to take him out. But waht about the poor people who will die because of a crazy fool. I must put my trust in the Big G. That He will allow that which is His will.
