My mother is coming.

Yesterday after bible studay a whole discussion came up about mother-in-laws. Particularly Korean mother-in-laws. (Shi-Uh-Muh-Nee) Yeah I've heard all the horror stories in da past. But man... Ladies get so out of hand about it. yes our parents and we are from a different culture and different generation... But man!

They were making Korean Mothers in law in to Cruella DeVille! Of course Lisa is all afraid to meet my mother. I am sure knowing Korean moms, that many, many women have suffered being in marriages/relationships because of moms. Sujin shared about her experience and how stressful she was about it.

All I kept hearing is that it is different and how we men don't understand about Korean Mother in laws and this, that, and the other. And yes, some of us men don't understand. But c'mon. Its not 19th century in Korea now. I am sure there are plenty of progressive Korean-American mother in laws.... They were sharing about other horror stories and other situations and what not. I was getting some what annoyed at the fact that there was no comfort or the good things that were talked about. It was all just sufferings that Korean wives go through... Geeze. The straw that broke the camels back was when Lisa talked about how great the Chinese mother in laws are! I said "OK! I've heard enough." I got up. I said "I've heard enough about my mother without you ever meeting her".

I can't say that everything will be roses, but I am pretty confident that my mother will not drive anyone insane. She is pretty modern and if anything she will probabaly treat my future wife better than me. Cause they already had a son before me. They were hoping for a daughter. But they got me and my brother passed away. So my parents have always longed for a daughter. Thank God I wasn't a girl. Can you imagine if I was a girl? Yikes. But I can see it from the girl's perspectives. Thank the Lord that I am a guy and I don't have to deal with psycho shi-uh-muh-nees! hahahaha!

Every action has a reaction! So be good to them and they will be good to you.

As I lay dying...

Anyone ever read this book by Faulkner?

Its a really intersting book. The point of view shifts between the fifteen different narrators, each with a unique personal interpretation and reaction to the dead character Addie Bundren. It even has the perspective of the dead character as they are carrying the coffin to another location.

Anyways I bring up death because I just heard that My Grandfather is not doing too well. He had a brain surgery not too long ago and my mother said that this might be it for him...

I've posted this pic before.... and here it is again. The man who looks like he belongs in the mob with the shades on is my maternal grandpa. I wonder what is going through his mind right now... I prayed for him last night and this morning.

We are all getting older by the minute. Yesterday I was driving and talking with my pal Al. I said that I am staring to appreciate VH1 more vs. MTV. There was a time that I could not watch VH1 due to da fact that it was not of my genaration. These days I find myself watching VH1 and enjoying it. I thought to myself "wait a minute... I am not an oldie! I am gonna watch MTV!" I turned the channel and a some music video was on... I found myself not enjoying it too much... I turned the channel back to VH1.... Man I am old... I am transitioning into an Ah Juh Cee stage.... One day I will transition into a Uh Reu Shin and a after that a Har Ah Buh Jee if I am lucky enough to die an old man.

One day I will be laying on the bed dying.... This is kinda morbid, but I wonder what I will be thinking "as I lay dying"

So here is a poem for y'all! By Robert Herrick.

'Gather ye rose-buds'

Gather ye rose-buds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles to-day,
To-morrow will be dying.

The glorious Lamp of Heaven, the Sun,
The higher he's a-getting
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he's to setting.

That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer:
But being spent, the worse, and worst
Times, still succeed the former.

Then, be not coy, but use your time;
And while ye may, go marry:
For having lost but once your prime,
You may for ever tarry.

Da Birds

Yesterday at work some fiasco happened and one of the employees just blew up..... I thought I was quick to anger before but man.... This cat was ready to just kill some one. I asked him a question about work and he was really mad. Not at me, but just mad because of the stupidity of a co-worker. He slammed his mouse cursing up a storm.... Usually in da past I would have put my foot dead in his ass for getting mad at me for someone else's mistake. But I just looked at him and told him to take it easy... As I was walking out his little office, I remembered all the times that I blew up and how stupid that really is...

Geeze... Work related anger.......

They say that working is for Da Birds.....
Well... According to my shirt.....

Is that what we all are? Bunch of birds.... Gawking at each other...

Lord.... I don't ax for much... Just the winning numbers to the biggest Lotto jackpot of all time....

Cause I am not sure if I wanna be a bird forever......

And last but not least, CPC kids that went to Paraguay on Sunday. I hope they make a difference.

Boy... Many people went/are going on mission this weekend... Patriotic weekend... Not for their country but Patriots in faith... cause the original Latin root of patriota means father and loyalty to father.... So they went to serve Da FATHER above! SO go get'me patriots!
