Back in Paradise........ Another short weekend.
Friday
Chris Yi left LA. I guess I should say that I will miss him. It has been a long time since I've seen him. I went to the party they had for him on Friday night. We had Korean buffet and then we went to Blue Note. Here is a list of some of the people who were at the farewell party. Paul Pyo, Albert hyung, Helen noona, James Jin, STD, Peter Synn, Sam To, Moon Ga Young, Melinda, and other happy faced niggas that I have not seen in a while. We all drank beers and soju. Saw Peter Synn. I guess my life is not as sad as his. More and more he drank, sadder and sadder was his story. His final statement was "I have not gotten laid in 2 1/2 years!!!!". Just as I started sympathizing with him and he say this awful thing. Some people were laughing and some were silent. I assed out this one clown. One paticular guy who was laughing which shall remain nameless, acted as if Peter was this pathetic guy. Knowing the clown that he is from the past, and knowing that he can't pull chix if his life depended on it, I said "What are you laughing about?". Everyone busted out with a laugher. Than I felt kinda bad. so I bought him a soju. Same old same old with my old crew. It was really good to see some and could have gone with out seeing others. All in all it was a good experience. Oh I almost forgot. Me, Paul, Melinda, and Ga Young, went to No Rae Bang afterwards and I rocked it(as usual). But a funny Phenomenon happened. It was like a re-occuring nightmare. I was singing "don't look back in anger" by Oasis and Melinda accidentally pushed stop and I got assed out. Right before I was about to get into it, the song fizzled out like the Raiders did last night. This is the second time this happened to me. the SAME SONG! Last time, the wacked Berkely girl did the same thing to me. The same part of the song. Just before the climax..... maybe I don't sound to good and this is their way of not hearing the song. I doubt it cause I rock.
Saturday
I finally saw Jongmin. Had lunch with him and Andy in Cerritos. It was good to see him but I had a ridiculous experience before the lunch. Couple of days ago my dad asked if he can borrow a CD. So I said sure. Before I tell the story there is something you should know. My father is probably the most difficult man to have as a father. Many people tell me that I am like him. I don't buy it. He is demanding, sensitive, tough, and very manly. Weird combination. How can people think that I remind them of him? He hates Christians. He says that he likes what the bible has to say and this that and the other but he hates the hypocritic Christians. To make the long story short he is a difficult man to live with. Back to the story. I was on my way to pick up Jongmin and a got a phone call from my pops. He said "Where is the CD?" I replied "its in my car and I will drop it off later cause I forgot". He demanded that I bring the CD back now. I told him how I was picking up may friend and he did not want to hear it. So I drove back home and gave him the CD. Meanwhile he stole my keys and would not give it to me. He said "you don't repect me. So I don't give you your keys" I explainded to him that I cannot be later than I already am. But it seemed he enjoyed that fact that I was panicking.
Three elements of why I was panicking.
1) Jongmin and Andy is waiting.
2) I am parked in red (I thought I was going to just drop off the CD)
3) My phone is in the car so I can't even call Jongmin and Andy to tell them I am going to be late.
After a while my anger was growing more and more. So I went ouside and smoked a cigarrette to calm my nerves. When I came back in he put the keys on the kitchen table and told me that I am a Michin-Nome. So grabbed the keys and left.
Isn't this a terrble story? Can you imagine what it is like having a dad like mine?
Anyways lunch was good and played b-ball afterwards with Hoon and Mel. Also found out Al got in a car accident.
SUPER BOWL SUNDAY
My prediction was true. Defence wins championships and Offense sells tickets. Raiders got their asses handed to them. What a diapointing Super Bowl. I don't care about the Raiders. I never have. But they really sucked yesterday. Watched the game at Walter's house. It was cool. I won in fantasy basketball again. Kurt Thomas and Elton Brand went off yesterday. They are studs. But overall Super Bowl sucked...... I enjoyed the sermon at church. It was good to hear Jongmin share his experience with us afterwards. It is good to hear about people who are mission minded. It is good to hear hear about people who represent everything that you are not. May be one day the big G will show me how he can use me.
