Al Pacino
I was at the premiere of the movie "The Recruit" last night. The movie sucked. It was me, Marcel, Camillo, and Camillo's fiance. The movie was so predictable and boring. The chick was pretty hot. The dude in the movie was ok. But Al Pacino really sucked in the movie. What happened to Al Pacino? He really did not put any effort into the character. He had this ten minute speech that sucked. I always loved Al Pacino. He is the Godfather for heaven's sake! The list of his great roles are a mile long. But pacino's lackluster performance in "The Recruit" was very disapointing. He really hasn't been in a good movie in a long time. How can he go from Michael Corleone to Tony Montana to Crap.......
Ex-Pros
Joe Chong, Andy Lee, and I had lunch at Mandy's yesterday. I am hooked to that place. It is not beacause the food is so good or that the place is so nice. I think it is beacause the price is so low. So yesterday at Mandy's, the waitess asked us "Do you like hockey?" Of course I said " Hockey is a white man's sport!". The waitress points out to this guy next to us and says he played for the LA Kings. I felt like a jackass. But he was really cool. He said "I am white!" And the guy next to him says "I played for the NE Patriots". So we sat next to to people who played profesional sports. The guy who played for the Kings was really a nice guy. He said his name was Nedomansky. So I looked him up on the net. His name is Vashi Nedomansky. His father Vaclav Nedomansky was a famous guy. But there was very little about Vashi. But it seemed like he was doing well. I think he was the nicest ex-pro athlete, I've ever met. Couple of days ago, I met a guy who played with the Dodgers for a short while. His name is Matt Luke. He went to my high school so shot the breeze with him for a bit. He too was a real nice guy. May be they are nice because they were not the super stars. They have a real perspective of life. I don't know. But I wonder what it would be like to be a profesional athlete. Life must be good for those guys.
