Of Mice and Men.......
Last night after bible study, Hoon, Dong, Mike Ha, and Harold all showed up a little heavier.... Some a lot heavier.... They went to the Tony Roma's All you can eat rib event. Get this... Hoon and Dong both had 37 ribs each..... 37 RIBS!
Harold was in the higher twenties I believe and Mike was maybe in the lower twenties.... And poor Walter Chung.... Wizzle Chizzle had a wimpy 17..... what a wuss... hahahaha! But Da Fevah had non.... WHy you ax? You know.... The stupid diet. So there I was, watching these men after being men and I was so jealous.

Gloomy yet hopeful.... oh and NWA + Jheri Curls...
I finally swatted Hoon. Yeah he is a sneaky one. sneaky about his moves, sneaky on the court.... Just plain sneaky. Hoon's famous quote is that "you have never swatted me...." Well..... hahahaha. There he was about to take his infamous 10 footer and I came out of no where and finally swatted him..... But for some reason, I am not that happy about it as I usually would be....
I did the laundry yesterday too. I am done with being lazy... I will not let it get to that point anymore. I had piles and piles..... I hate fighting over the Laundry with other apratment tennants. Not that I fought. But, I vow that next place that I am gonna live is gonna have a Laundry machine in the house.
I don't know what happened to my enthusiasm that I had yesterday... Feeling kinda gloomy. May be it is the weather....
SO this morning to feel good about myself I busted out my old school N.W.A. cd. Some of you youngsters might not even know who N.W.A is. Well let me tell you, they are the Godfathers of gangster rap. The Group consited of Eazy-E, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, MC Ren, Yella, and others.... Now that is talent. N.W.A. stands for Niggas With Attitude.
Can you tell who these guys are? hahahaha!

Jheri Curls were great. The look in the 80's for black people....
Many celebs were into it. Youi know that wet look....

It did actually made me feel a little better. there is somithing about rap music and all the sinful stuff and anger that makes one feel kinda good.... Yeah I know... I am a sinner.

Last Temptation of Da Fevah.......
So I got an email from Dong yesterday about all-you-can-eat rib night at Tony Romas.... I love ribs..... But a double whammy for me.... I can't eat pork and I can't eat all-I-can anymore.....
One of my favorite stories about Hoon and I and eating(I have many) happened after a wedding. I forgot who's wedding it was. But we stuffed our selves cause it was one of those Korean weddings that was catered by Bi-Won. Mmmmmm.... All you can eat Korean wedding foods. YES! But what we forgot was that later, we were invited to our friends home for Ribs....
Da Fevah : Man I am full....
Hoon : Me too.....
Da Fevah : I think we have Rib night at Jenna's...
Hoon : Oh yeah.....
Da Fevah : Man can you eat again?
Hoon : We need to be inspired.... Chant with me...
Da Fevah : huh?
Hoon : R.... I..... B..... (Prounoucing each letters) R.. I.. B...
Together : R. I. B.... R I B... R I B... R I B... R I B...
We Chanted faster and faster.... And we killed it that night. It was a moment of triumph. It was gonna be the ribs or our reputation....
Needless to say..... Hoon and I won! and even we had dessert.
After the dinner, was like a movie momment. Hoon and I walking back to the car with our pants unbuckled, guts hangin' out, with a smirk of pride on our faces. Hoon with a tooth pick in his mouth and me with a cig.... I can hear the "Chariots of Fire" theme song on the back ground, all shot in slow motion......
Man I love ribs.... But gotta stay strong. Can't go to Buffets.... Oh how I miss those days. I had many buffet pals. Mel, Hoon, Al, and I were all heavyweight champions of Buffets. Todai, HomeTown, Marrie Callendar brunch, El Torrito sat. brunch, Joe's Sushi, Maedas, Garden, Brazillian, and etc.... Not to forget all the Korean go-gi(meat) buffets. Sometimes we even went healthy, you know... Souplatations. You name it. We've been there. There were times that we would walk out of buffets and just laugh for hours.....

But gone are those days of eating....
and I am half the man that I used to be.....

Breeze......
Last night was amazing. I was bothered all day by the heat and feeling exhausted. But when the night time came around, I was in complete state of bliss. I was sitting outside alone and the summer breeze cooling my body down and restoring my body from the summer-like heat. Summer is coming! I made myself a cup of coffee and I was having a cigarette. Oh what a combo. All the neighbors were outside enjoying the cool down. It was perfect. I was reminded again why I love Southern California.
I think that is how life is. Sometimes it get extremly hot and life can beat you down. But there is something to look forward to after the beat down of life. I felt like a nice cold one last night. But I opted for coffee. I am still sticking to da diet. The whole summer night experience reminds me of my diet. what about it you ask? Da Diet was extremly hard in the beginning... But it is getting easier. And I know a time is gonna come when I am done with the diet and I will be kickin back in the breeze......... I know that God can provide that breeze for me.
Yeah I am feeling pretty optimistic today. I am even looking forward to doing the Laundry today. And I hate that stuff. Laundry that is. I feel that it sucks the life out of me. But not today. I suprised that I feel this way on a Wednessday.
Talking about breeze.... Has anyone tried Fabreze?
This is one of many products that Lisa has introduced me to.... what else you ask? Well how about the Swiffer....
This product just makes life easier when cleaning... I absolutley love this stuff.
Lisa has inroduced me to a slew of cleaning stuff and other foo foo things like new lotion and stuff that has made my life better. I can really say that I am a better person since I met my girl. May be she is the breeze that God provided me with.... (Doesn't that make you just twist Dong?) hahaha!
So how are you doing today? or I guess I can say how has your day been so far?

Home Cafe vs. Blink (K-Town....)

Last night I was in K-town. Oh yeah. My former home away from home.... It was Lisa, Julian, Don Juan (the greatest lover), and I. They ate at Yu-Chon and we went to the infamous Cafe Home...... What is Cafe Home you ax? Why it is your favorite place for Korean Christians to hang out..... X(
The first time I went to Cafe home was on the worst weekend of all time.... When Dong promised me the funnest night ever... Errrrr... Dong. well we ended up at Cafe Home and played pasoy(sp?) all night. Thanks Dong!
Well Cafe Home is a place where anyone feels comfortable... Like home... Hence the name Cafe Home... It is like a Korean Christian Re-union at Cafe home. All the Korean Christians saying hello and what not. Very quite. Strange decorations of Holly wood stars on the walls. There is a wall that is solely dedicated to Johnny Depp. They have games like Connect Four and Chinese Checkers.... (which by the way I won last night) Thank you very much. Whole lotta clean fun. I even saw a Pastor on a date there. Oh the friendly atmosphere....
Right upstairs is Blink....
They have security guards there as you can see. Not to say that it is dangerous there... It is quite festive at Blink. People get drunk at Blink... It is nice inside and always packed. Since i don't drink anymore, I go there to have H2O these days. The music is always loud. And people are having a good time. You know a nicer version of any Korean drinking place. My buddy Paul Pyo is the reining champion of beer drinking contest there. He won it twice!

Since Blink does not serve coffee, I usually walk down stairs and get coffee from Cafe Home. I go from loud to quite. Drunks to sober people. girls at Blink dress up with crazy make up.... Girls at Cafe Home look down right wholesome.

Baby steps towards Jesus
So on Friday before LA Dodgers kicked the SF Giant's @$$, Lisa and I stopped by a bakery called YeWool...
Lisa wanted GoRoKKe bbang. Yewool is a great bbang jip. A hidden treasure of La Palma! I was standing in line and this woman and her daughter just cut in front of me.... They ordered and the as the mother was about to pay, I looked at her and said in Korean....
"Yuh Gee nun Jool doh ahn seuh Nah Bah yoo....."
(translation) I guess you don't stand in lines here....
I think I scared her.
The daughter said "Were you in line?" in english. Here comes the baby step towards Jesus.
Normally I would have said, "No Biotch, I was standing in a line at a bbang jip for my health!" But I didn't. I just did not reply. Grace of God came over me. I know that this might sound ridiculous to some of you Christians who have been in walk with Jesus longer than I. But baby steps.... Yes I am a terrible sinner... But before you know it, if same thing happens again, I will just grin... There is a sanctification process. All thanks to Jesus!

Friday night thriller....

So the Dodgers kicked some Giant @$$ this weekend.. I was at the 12 inning thrillah with Lisa, Sophia, and Steve. and after a grueling battle, Milton Bradley hit the game winning hit as the Dodgers defeated the San Francisco Midgets yet once again. It was a great game...

This weekend was cool. I hung with Al and Hoon on Friday night after the game....
Discussed with Al about Simon & Garfunkel.... So they are finally coming to LA. I was all excited.... The Hollywood bowl to be exact.

Couple of old farts... Very sad. So would I want to see these old farts? Hell yeah! Unfortunately, I was let down extremely when I saw the prices for the tickets.....
These were some extremly expensive tickets. Arranging from $350 to $60..... $60 for nose bleeds..... I got very sad. Bastards.... Not only are they old farts, but greedy old farts.... I will probably never get a chance to see them again..... So we will see what happens.... Booo~~~~ But honestly, how great are Simon and Garfukel? Any others out there who like S&G as much?
