independent Individuals....

I was just chatting online and "Band of Brothers" came up in the conversation....

I absolutely loved this HBO series. It was an amazing series... I loved the brotherhood that these men shared and how it portrayed the tragedy of war in a very realistic and artistic way.

My favorite episode was one with Donnie Wahlberg's monologue through the episode. The episode dealt with the group being led by an incompetent leader vs. a good leader....

I truly think that we put way too much emphasis in things such as being an independent person...

Oh yes... We don't need anybody else... All we need is ourselves.... Cause it is all about ME, ME, ME! Not to say that being independent is a bad thing cause it is a necessity. But what about family? Community? Charity?

Here is my theory. I believe that we rely on ourselves due to lack of leadership. I was involved in two sports long, long time ago.... Yeah. Some of you might know that I played football and I wrestled. Football is a team sport and Wrestling is an individual sport. Both very physically challenging... But I enjoyed football so much more. Even in football, we have our individual assignment. But one superstar does not make up for the whole team. Wherever the weak link is, the team has to make up for it. Leadership comes out in someone to carry the team emotionally. I don't miss wrestling at all... But I do miss the huddle and the team chemistry that we had.

Well I believe that we all need someone to carry us in needy times. We all need that leadership of someone who will take the blame for us when we fall.

Thanks G!
