Confidence in Da Lord
Why does it seem that so many people who claim to be Christians have such weak confidence in Da Lord? I was talking to a guy yesterday at Da Bucks about Da Lord. He was a guy from Berkeley who was searchin' it seems. I've made it a point to get to know this guy. Lord willing , I will have an impact in his life. I will share with him more and more. You have no idea how good it feels to have someone's undivided attention when you talk about something that is the most important in your life. That is how I felt yesterday. Last night I had a conversation with someone that I've known for a long time. He said to me "Everytime I talk to you, I don't know if you are serious or joking". Well I don't know either somtimes. As we were talking, I asked him the age old question. "Do you think that if you died today you would goto heaven?" He said "yes...." with hesitation. Than we got into a conversation about his hesitation. Basically I came to 3 possible conclusion of why he had the hesitation.
1) one is not really saved.
2) feels guilty about his/her lifestyle.
3) Afraid he/she might sound stupid because of the world says youi must have ceratin quality in order to be an intellectual.
for example....
a. Post modernist/Deconstructionist thinking cool.
b. One Must have an open mind to be hip.(However the open mind does not go both ways)
c. Must push your own issues and sound pissed off and bitter in order to be understood yet misunderstood.
d. Use SAT words to sound smart.
e. Must stand against the grain. (Holden Caufield effect)
So on and so forth......
You want to stand against the grain? Christians stand against the grain. To those who claim to understand the saving knowledge of our Lord, stand up and be confident. No matter how weak sauce of Christian you are. It is our weakness that BIG G is healing. It is our weakness that Christ covers up. It is because our weakness that we look to the LORD.
